Our Story

A Family Legacy of Leadership

Powers Consulting was founded by Bonnie Powers and her daughter, Tamena Powers, who share a passion for helping individuals and organizations reach their full leadership potential.

Their business was built on the same values that shaped their family: integrity, respect, accountability, continuous learning, and purposeful leadership.

Tamena often reflects on the lessons that influenced her journey:

"My upbringing had a lot to do with my success. From my mom telling me that if you say something, then you do it, to my grandfather's example of treating everyone with respect, no matter their station in life. I am fascinated by working with people and continue to marvel at their complexity and resilience."

Bonnie Powers

Bonnie believes leadership is about helping people discover what they're capable of and giving them the confidence to achieve it.

With professional coaching accreditation and extensive experience in accounting, finance, and business operations, Bonnie brings both strategic insight and compassionate leadership to every coaching relationship.

She believes success comes from partnering with clients... not simply advising them.

As Bonnie explains:

Tamena Powers

Co-Founder | Leadership Development & Human Behaviour Specialist

Tamena's entrepreneurial journey began at just ten years old when she started her first babysitting business.

Managing multiple families, organizing her schedule, and earning the trust of parents taught her responsibility, confidence, and the value of serving others long before she entered the business world.

Those early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for entrepreneurship, leadership, and continuous learning.

Today, Tamena combines an accomplished background in marketing with advanced certifications in human behaviour and motivation to help leaders better understand themselves, inspire others, and build healthier organizations.

She believes every leader has untapped potential waiting to be discovered and that authentic leadership begins with understanding people.
